When you grow up travelling change becomes a resilient companion. A companion that challenges you in each move.

I always ask myself, how aware am I of those changes. Because in change lies the opportunity to reinvent ourselves, and to get get closer to who we really are.

I started my practice of Meditation more than 15 years ago. Since then, I have travelled around the world in search of the best experts I could find.

It gives me great joy to see my students progress, and  achieve––with their bodies and minds––things they never thought were possible.

MEDITATION

AND SELF-KNOWLEDGE

We all have our personal mountain to climb. Sometimes the difficult part is finding the mountain. I wish I could say I went on an epic quest to find mine, but, in truth, my mountain came to me.

As an art student, I was engaged in research at my local library when I stumbled upon a poster for a course on Meditation. For some reason, that image captivated me: it displayed a statue of someone sitting in meditation (a sculpture of Shiva). It conveyed a sense of serenity and strength. It contrasted enormously with Rodin’s The Thinker, which embodies a more melancholic posture. I decided to give it a go, and that was the beginning of my journey. A transformative process that still reverberates today. And quite a big mountain to climb.

TEACHING IS LEARNING

My original motivation to become an expert in Meditation (and Integrative Lifestyle) was purely to deepen my knowledge. Teaching others would challenge me to practise more and would force me to get out of my comfort zone––as an introvert in his studio.

Gradually it developed into a passion and a calling: It’s a nice feeling when your journey has a positive impact on others.

I’m fortunate to have found great mentors right from the outset. In particular Prof. DeRose, whom I had the privilege of working alongside for a few years.

Having good mentors is crucial, given that Personal Development and Meditation swarms with so many contradictions and has its share of nonsense.

Lifestyling surfaced organically with the desire to make a difference in the world. I envisioned, at the time, a project that could shelter a dynamic approach to lifestyle and personal improvement, without labels and the usual stereotypes. I wanted to present it in a creative and inspiring way. And when Mité and Andrea came aboard, that rapidly became a tangible possibility. We share the same values, and worked hard for years to hone our expertise. Now it was time to share it with the world.

We wanted a project that could combine our passions and, at the same time, challenge us and push us forward.

Lifestyling is a platform to sensitise people to see lifestyle as a creative endeavour that can work synergistically––from the way we work, train, meditate, breathe, eat, socialise, etc.
